Hey, I’m Kay, a therapist and supervisor working online. My approach is underpinned by kindness, compassion, warmth and safety while working together towards the changes you would like to make in your life. I offer a flexible and non clinical approach to sessions which can be relaxed and informal but also structured if that is what you would like too.
I believe resilience is not just about surviving, but thriving. I can help you tap into your inner resources, challenge limiting beliefs, and build the emotional resilience needed to navigate life’s challenges and setbacks with greater ease.
I provide a calm, confidential, and welcoming environment where healing can begin. Although online, I ensure a nurturing space where you can feel safe, heard, and understood—an essential foundation for personal growth and lasting change.
Change takes courage and the right support. I am here to walk beside you every step of the way with empathy, clinical expertise, and unwavering support. I don’t just treat symptoms; we help you transform how you live, relate, and thrive.
Hey, I’m Kay
I’m a therapist based in Devon, but I work with people all over the UK thanks to the wonders of Zoom. My own experience of living with OCD is what led me down the path professionally—and these days, most of the people I support are also navigating OCD in some form.
I’m a skills-based therapist, which means I’ll support you to build practical tools and confidence, so you can become your own OCD therapist in a way that works for you. We go at your pace, always with kindness, humour and a whole lot of compassion.
🌊 I live by the sea and love a coastal walk.
🎨 I love using creative tools in therapy—anything from metaphors to visual aids.
📚 I’m always learning and training—I’m a bit of a therapy nerd.
☕ You’ll often find me working with a cup of coffee and my dog Ruby by my feet.
📺 Favourite comfort watch: Friends.

The Values That Guide My Work
🧡 Kindness over shame – You are not broken. You’ve been doing your best with a very loud brain.
🧡 Honesty and collaboration – We’ll work together, side-by-side. I’ll never push you into something you’re not ready for.
🧡 Flexibility and creativity – Every brain is different. We’ll find what works for yours.
🧡 Courage and small steps – Progress doesn’t have to be perfect. Showing up is enough.
🧡 Living by what matters – OCD takes you away from what you care about. Therapy helps you find your way back.

Kay OCD Therapy – Neurodiversity and OCD
I welcome neurodivergent clients, including those with ADHD, autism, or who identify somewhere on the neurodivergent spectrum. It’s really common for neurodivergence to sit alongside OCD, and I hold that in mind throughout our work together.
While I’m not a neurodiversity specialist, I work in a flexible way that adapts to your unique brain and how you experience the world—no masking, no pressure, just space to be fully you.

"Your work and guidance really helped me get to a place where I can be happy. I've really found myself again and it was thanks to you"
Kathryn (Kay) is a lovely counsellor with a wealth of knowledge across several modalities. Kay leads with compassion and understanding, bringing warmth and a human touch to every interaction.
"Kay taught me to stand up for myself, believe in myself and restore my self confidence. I would not be the contented person I now am without her help"
The service Kay gave me was amazing. I suffered trauma abuse in childhood that turned into depression and alcohol problems later in life. 10 out of 10

Overcoming OCD doesn’t happen overnight – but you don’t have to face it alone. With expert guidance and a compassionate approach, I’ll walk with you through each stage of your healing journey. From the first conversation to long-term progress, you’ll have clear, supportive direction every step of the way.
Every person’s experience with OCD is different. That’s why I begin by deeply listening and exploring what you're going through. By taking the time to understand your specific challenges, triggers, and strengths, I ensure that your therapy is truly personal and aligned with what matters most to you.
Once I’ve gained insight into your needs, we’ll build a practical, structured therapy plan together that's tailored to your goals. Whether it involves ACT, ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), or integrated approaches, your plan will offer clear steps designed to reduce distress and restore peace of mind.
Therapy is a collaborative journey. We’ll work closely together to apply strategies, monitor progress, and adapt as needed. With regular check-ins and open communication, I’ll celebrate every step forward—no matter how small—and navigate setbacks with care and resilience.
My goal isn’t just symptom relief—it’s long-term transformation. Through therapy, you'll develop deeper self-awareness, confidence in handling OCD, and tools to maintain your progress independently. I’ll help you build inner strength and lasting habits that support your well-being far beyond the therapy room.
You don’t have to wait for your mind to be quiet to start living. In this space, we’ll use your values as a compass to guide your steps — even when uncertainty is present.
There’s no perfect way to recover — just your way.
You might notice I often use language around what matters — things like values and inner compass. That’s no accident. While Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is a core part of how I work, I also draw deeply from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which places a strong emphasis on living in line with your values.
This approach really matters to me — supporting you to move toward what matters to you. For many people I work with, that includes recovery, connection, freedom, or just feeling more like themselves again.
OCD therapy can feel challenging, but you don’t have to do it alone. With the right support, recovery is not about doing things perfectly — it’s about showing up, step by step, in the direction of the life you want.
The first step is often the hardest—but also the most powerful. Whether you’re seeking support for OCD, anxiety, or relationship challenges, I’m here to help you move forward with confidence. Begin your wellness journey today and discover the life-changing benefits of therapy tailored to you.
While talking therapies like traditional counselling or general psychotherapy can be helpful for many emotional challenges, they are not considered effective treatments for OCD. In fact, for some people with OCD, purely talking through intrusive thoughts or seeking reassurance in sessions can unintentionally strengthen the OCD cycle.
OCD is maintained by unhelpful coping strategies—like avoidance, rumination, and compulsive reassurance-seeking. When therapy focuses only on insight or emotional expression without addressing these patterns directly, it can actually make symptoms worse over time.
The gold-standard treatment for OCD is a structured, evidence-based approach such as ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) These approaches help you learn how to respond differently to obsessions and reduce the need for compulsions—so that you’re no longer stuck in the cycle.
If you’ve tried talking therapy and it didn’t help—or even made things feel worse—you’re not alone. The problem isn’t you; it’s that OCD needs a different kind of support.

Here to uplift and encourage my supervisees to feel calm and confident in the work they do. While its important to me to gently challenge my supervisees, what underpins this is a relaxed and nurturing approach, so you feel safe and held.
I want you to feel supported in the work you do and provide you with that time for reflection and empowerment.
Out of the box learning and creativity is also a big part of who I am as a supervisor too. Adapting to the individual, rather than a one size fits all approach.
Just like the relationship we have with our clients is of most importance, this also will apply to the supervisor and supervisee relationship. I want you to feel comfortable and happy in our sessions, so I do offer a free initial half hour to look at your requirements for supervision and make sure I am the right supervisor for you.
